Are you passionate about specialty coffee and quality craftsmanship, and ready to dip your toes in production? We’re a small-batch coffee roastery dedicated to roasting with intention and delivering consistently excellent coffee from green bean to packaged product. We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Production Assistant to help us roast, package, and bottle our coffee — part of a team that values precision, curiosity, camaraderie, and good coffee for all.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with coffee roasting operations — solo roasting, monitoring roast profiles, and supporting post-roast workflows.

  • Package and label coffee bags and bottles with care and consistency, ensuring product quality and presentation.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production space — from roasting equipment to packaging stations.

  • Help with bottling cold brew and prepping finished product for storage and distribution.

  • Collaborate with the team to refine systems and workflows, always striving for improvement and consistency.

Who You Are

  • Excited about coffee craftsmanship and eager to develop roasting and production skills.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow detailed procedures with precision.

  • Comfortable with physical tasks in a production environment (heavy lifting, standing, repetitive motion).

  • A team player who communicates clearly and contributes to a supportive, respectful workplace vibe.

  • Availability required:

    • Thursday evenings, 3 PM–9 PM, and

    • One day Monday–Wednesday, 3 PM–8 PM (flexible which day during that window).

    • This role starts at 6–12 hours per week, with opportunities for growth and cross-training in other areas of the company for the right fit.

Compensation

  • $15/hr — Entry level

  • $18/hr — With 2 or more years of roasting experience on a commercial coffee roaster

Applicants must demonstrate the following qualities or abilities:

Work effectively in a fast-paced production environment/have ability to switch gears when needed 

• Can manage and prioritize daily and weekly tasks 

• Possess a logical and methodological approach to problem-solving 

• Demonstrated capability to communicate clearly and often, and maintain effective relationships with co-workers 

• Flexibility and the ability to work independently and with minimum guidance after training (~12 weeks)

• Willingness to learn from mistakes 

• Desire and curiosity to grow and enhance knowledge and skills 

• Understanding and adherence to maintaining confidentiality in all matters 

• Food Handlers Card- current or recently expired

• Driver’s License with a clean driving record 

• Preferred: at least a year of experience in the coffee industry or food/production environment or educational background in a related field

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to stand or walk for most of the day 

• Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying (50 lbs. and above, team lifts of 150 lbs of green coffee) 

• Bending, stooping, pushing/reaching above shoulder 

• Standing 4+ hours per day on concrete floors

• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with a moderate noise level
